Roman Svir is an accomplished accounting and financial operations professional with over 15 years of experience across both public accounting and private industry. He is the Founder and Managing Principal of Stax Accounting Group, a modern fractional accounting and finance firm supporting small, mid-market, and enterprise businesses nationwide.
Roman graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2011, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting, along with a minor in Finance. He began his career in public accounting, where he gained approximately one year of audit and compliance experience, developing a strong foundation in financial controls, risk assessment, regulatory standards, and audit methodology.
After transitioning into the private sector, Roman held progressively senior roles in accounting and finance, where he became deeply involved in full-cycle accounting, month-end close processes, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and executive-level financial reporting. His work focused on building audit-ready financial systems, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening financial visibility for growing organizations.
Throughout his career, Roman has been recognized for his ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that support better decision-making. He operates at both the tactical and strategic levels-ensuring compliance and accuracy while also helping leadership teams understand the story behind the numbers and use financial intelligence to drive growth.
Roman founded Stax Accounting Group to address a common gap in the market: businesses that need more than bookkeeping, but less than a full in-house finance department. Under his leadership, Stax delivers fractional accounting, controller oversight, and CFO-level advisory services, providing clients with scalable financial infrastructure without the overhead of hiring internally.
Today, Roman works closely with entrepreneurs, business owners, and executive teams across a wide range of industries. His hands-on, partnership-driven approach helps clients achieve clarity, control, and confidence in their financial operations-building long-term financial foundations that support sustainable growth, compliance, and success.
